Welcome / Opening Prayer
Affirmation of Faith
Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;
the third day he rose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic** church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
1st Hymn:
Sing We Now of Christmas UMH 237 Vses 1, 2, 4
Sing we now of Christmas, Noel, sing we here! Hear our grateful praises to the babe so dear.
Sing we Noel, the King is born, Noel! Sing we now of Christmas, sing we now Noel!
Angels called to shepherds, "Leave your flocks at rest, journey forth to Bethlehem, find the child so blest."
Sing we Noel, the King is born, Noel! Sing we now of Christmas, sing we now Noel!
From the eastern country came the kings afar, bearing gifts to Bethlehem, guided by a star.
Sing we Noel, the King is born, Noel! Sing we now of Christmas, sing we now Noel!
Pastoral Prayer
Lord's Prayer
OUR FATHER WHO ART IN HEAVEN,
HALLOWED BE THY NAME.
THY KINGDOM COME.
THY WILL BE DONE
ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN.
GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD,
AND FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES,
AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO TRESPASS AGAINST US,
AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION,
BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOM,
AND THE POWER, AND THE GLORY,
FOR EVER AND EVER
AMEN
2nd Hymn:
Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming
UMH 216 Vses 1, 2, 3
Lo, how a Rose e'er blooming from tender stem hath sprung!
Of Jesse's lineage coming as those of old have sung.
It came, a flower-et bright, amid the cold of winter, when half spent was the night.
Isaiah 'twas foretold it, the Rose I have in mind,
with Mary we behold it, the Virgin Mother kind.
To show God's love aright, she bore to us a Savior, when half spent was the night.
O Flower, whose fragrance tender with sweetness fills the air,
dispel in glorious splendor the darkness everywhere.
True man yet very God, from sin and death now save us, and share our every load.
