Bless the Community of Faith in Love

September 13, 2020

1 Peter 4:7-11

How do you tend to handle your clothes when you stay in a hotel? Some of us think that being in a hotel is an opportunity to throw clothes anywhere. We think that at the end of the day we are just going to be there for a short time and in the end we can put it all in a bag and we go. Others of us tend to be more organized on our journey. We live with purpose even when we are far from home, especially if the journey is longer. How you perceive your trip is going to affect the way you deal with it. The same is true of the community of faith. If you think that your faith is simply yours, you are going to treat your faith community in a way. If you think that your faith belongs in community, you will treat it differently.

How has your community of faith been a blessing in your life? Explain.

When you read the gospels, what is one similarity between you and Peter?

What do you think Pedro means by the expression "alert and of sober mind?"

Why doesn't Peter see the "multitude of sins" as an excuse not to bless?

How is an owner different from a manager in relation to "God’s grace in its various forms?"

What gift do you have that you can use to bless the community of faith? Are you really using this gift?
