Traicionado

21 de marzo del 2021

Mateo 26:14-16

Matthew 26:14-16

The betrayal of Judas was no accident. Judas planned it with premeditation after feeling justified for his actions in light of his frustrations with Jesus. From Judas’s perspective, Jesus was taking too long to take down the Romans. Understanding why Judas betrayed Jesus is key to understanding how he serves as a warning to us today. How many times do we “sell” Jesus with the decisions that we make? What are our reasons?

What is your favorite (or most disliked) villain while growing up? Why?

Think about this from Judas’ perspective. Why did he betray Jesus? What do you think about his possible reasons?

What is the danger of thinking about Judas as someone completely different from us?

What elements of your life are completely against Jesus’ values?

Extravagant Worship

March 14, 2021
Mary poured an expensive perfume at Jesus' feet as an act of worship. Mary's act of worship was pure ... passionate ... royal ... expensive ... and extravagant. He touched the heart of Jesus. Jesus knew he was heading to the cross, and Mary's act of worship was a blessing to him. The coronation of Jesus would be with the cross as a throne and thorns as a crown. Mary, in her gratitude, is anointing Jesus as so many other kings had been in the past.

What's the most outrageous act of worship you've ever witnessed? Explain.

What do you think is going through Mary's mind as she pours the perfume at Jesus' feet? How do you think she feels right now?

How would you have reacted to Judas's words at that time? Would you have agreed or disagreed with Judas?

What do you think Jesus meant by his words? How would you have reacted to these words if you were Maria? Judas?

How can you pour out your love for Jesus extravagantly, in a way that spreads the beautiful fragrance of Jesus where you are?

God In The Flesh

March 7, 2021

John 1:1-5, 14

It is easy for us to forget the miracle that is made real in Jesus’ incarnation (God made flesh). The reality is that the Creator of the Universe became a simple man in order to reach us and that alone is an earth shattering reality.

Talk to us about the best boss that you have had and tell us why they were (or are) so good.

How would you explain to a child the reality of Jesus being Creator and Human at the same time?

What do you think John means by the phrase "made his dwelling among us?" Why is this important to us?

Why is it so important in our relationship with God to know that Jesus walked in our steps?
